Forty-four patients with branchial anomalies at our department were reviewed. The incidence, classification, clinical manifestations and pathological findings of these branchial anomalies were investigated. First branchial anomalies were noted in 27.3%, second in 61.4%, third in 9.1% and fourth in 2.2% of the 44 patients. In this study, the incidence of the cysts is higher than that of the sinuses or fistulae. There has been no recurrence after surgical interventions of these cases. We suggested that complete excision is essential for a successful outcome.
